CHILDREN AND YOUTH AT CONVENTION

All children are welcome at convention this year. Children ages 5 and up must be registered.

Youth (ages 13-18) may attend classes unaccompanied but a parent/guardian must also be registered and attending convention.

Children (ages 5-12) may not attend classes without an accompanying parent/guardian.

Children (ages 0-4) must remain with parents at all times.  There will be NO childcare services available for ages 0-4.

All children are expected to be quiet while attending any speaking sessions and to be well-behaved while in a session or the exhibit hall.

If a child is deemed to be disruptive to a session or to the exhibit hall, the parent will be asked to leave the session or exhibit hall, along with their child, until such point that the child is able to be quiet and/or well-behaved.

YOUNG CHILDREN (recommended ages 6-10)

"Answers in Genesis" is offering 4 workshops for children for children ages 6-10 (see convention schedule for details).  Accompanying supervision required.  During workshop blocks where "Answers in Genesis" is not offered, you may register children to attend a workshop with an adult.

Check convention synopsis for details of these workshops.

YOUTH AGES 13 AND UP

Youth can register for "Generation Joshua's" "iElect" track which will  be Friday and Saturday (all day both days).  Youth who register are required to attend all workshops in this track.

iElect – Teen Track

William Estrada – Generation Joshua

Participants will take part in a mock presidential campaign that includes caucus work, a primary race, voter registration, fundraising, commercials, campaigning, and actual voting. Participants will be assigned to a mock political party, design their own party platform, elect their own candidates from among themselves, and raise GenJ money to buy commercials, campaign materials, advertisements, etc.  Parents and other conference attendees are involved by registering to vote, donating play money (parents will be provided with the money), and by voting for their favorite candidate.

Students simulate the rigors of the electoral process by personally campaigning for a candidate of their choice. At each phase of the program, students will learn how a real election works by actually participating in the presidential race and making important decisions that could make or break their campaign.

The program is designed to be interactive, even getting parents and other attendees involved in the process. Teens will enjoy the hands-on nature that the program offers.
